How it works
How salary tax is calculated in Equatorial Guinea
Your employer deducts social security from gross pay: 4.5% for INSESO and 0.5% for the Work Protection Fund. These contributions are deductible, so they come off your pay before income tax is worked out.
The remaining taxable income is taxed progressively: 0% on the first 1,400,000 XAF a year, then 10%, 15%, 20% and 25% on income above 15,000,000 XAF. Each rate applies only to the slice of income in its band.
Tax rules in Equatorial Guinea have changed in recent years and some published tables differ. We use the most recent professional summary available and will update the calculator as official guidance changes. Always confirm figures with the Dirección General de Impuestos or a local adviser.
