Technology

A modern, battle-tested technology stack

We choose tools for reliability, performance and long-term maintainability, then back them with engineering standards that keep your product fast, secure and easy to evolve.

Our stack, layer by layer

The right tool for every part of your product

A consistent, proven toolkit means faster delivery, easier hiring and fewer surprises in production.

Architecture principles

How we make technical decisions

Clear principles keep systems simple, fast and affordable to run as they grow.

  • Boring where it counts

Proven, well-supported technology for the core, with innovation where it differentiates your product.

  • Designed to scale

Stateless services, sensible caching and databases modelled for growth from day one.

  • Typed end to end

TypeScript and schema-validated APIs catch whole classes of bugs before they reach users.

  • Modular, not micro by default

A well-structured modular core first; services are split out only when there's a clear reason.

  • Performance budgets

Core Web Vitals and API latency targets are set early and tracked on every release.

  • Secure by design

Least-privilege access, encryption everywhere and dependency scanning built into the pipeline.

Quality & security

Engineering standards built into every sprint

Quality isn't a phase at the end of a project. Testing, security and observability are part of how we work from the very first commit.

Automated testing
Security scanning
Observability
  • Unit, integration and end-to-end tests run on every change
  • Dependency and container vulnerability scanning in CI
  • Encryption in transit and at rest, with secrets kept out of code
  • Structured logging, metrics, tracing and on-call alerting
  • Accessibility checks against WCAG 2.2 AA

Delivery pipeline

From commit to customers, safely

Automation lets us release small changes often, which is faster for you and far less risky than big launches.

  1. 01

    Commit & review

Small pull requests, peer-reviewed against agreed standards and linting rules.

  2. 02

    Automated checks

Unit, integration and end-to-end tests, type checks and security scans on every change.

  3. 03

    Preview builds

Every change gets its own preview environment for product and design review.

  4. 04

    Staged roll-out

Releases go to staging, then a small slice of users, before reaching everyone.

  5. 05

    Observe & learn

Dashboards, alerts and error tracking confirm each release is healthy.

FAQ

Technology questions, answered

Which technology stack is right for my project?

It depends on your product, team and growth plans. For most web products we recommend Next.js with TypeScript and PostgreSQL; for mobile, React Native. We'll recommend a stack during discovery and explain the trade-offs in plain English.

Why do you use React Native instead of separate native apps?

React Native lets us deliver iOS and Android apps from one codebase with near-native performance, which lowers cost and keeps features in sync. Where a feature truly needs native code, we write native modules.

Is Next.js good for SEO?

Yes. Next.js renders pages on the server or at build time, so search engines receive complete HTML with titles, metadata and structured data. Combined with fast load times, that gives your site a strong technical SEO foundation.

Can you work with our existing technology?

Yes. We regularly extend and modernise existing systems. We start with an audit, then improve incrementally without risky big-bang rewrites.
