How it works
How the conversion works
Your document is read inside your browser. We extract its headings, paragraphs, bold and italic text, lists, tables, links and images.
We then lay it out as a new A4 PDF with real, selectable text, using the open-source Noto Sans font so accented letters and symbols such as ₦, ₵ and € display correctly.
It works best for letters, CVs, reports and other text documents. Complex Word features such as text boxes, headers and footers, tracked changes and custom fonts aren't carried over. Old .doc files need to be saved as .docx first.

Every calculation runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to us or stored.

Common questions
Is my document uploaded?
No. The conversion happens entirely on your device, so your document never leaves your computer or phone.
Can I convert .doc files?
Only .docx files are supported. Open an older .doc file in Word, choose 'Save as' and select 'Word Document (.docx)', then convert it here.
Will my formatting be kept?
Headings, bold, italics, lists, tables, links and images are kept. Exact fonts, page margins, headers, footers and text boxes are replaced with a clean standard layout.
Is the text in the PDF selectable?
Yes. The PDF contains real text, so it can be searched, copied and read by screen readers.
