How it works
How the ATS checker works
Paste or upload your CV (PDF, Word or text), or pull in the CV you made with our CV generator. Files are read in your browser and never uploaded.
Paste the job advert. The checker picks out its most important terms (tools, skills, qualifications and repeated phrases) and looks for each one in your CV, ignoring case, accents and plurals.
Your score combines keyword match (60%) with formatting checks (40%): contact details, standard headings, length, bullet points, measurable results and dates. Work the missing keywords in honestly, then check again.

Common questions
What is an ATS?
An applicant tracking system is software employers use to collect, filter and search CVs. Many rank candidates by how closely a CV matches the job's keywords, so a strong CV can be missed if it uses different words or a layout the system can't read.
What is a good ATS score?
Aim for 70 or more, and ideally 60% or more of the advert's key terms. A perfect score isn't the goal: only add keywords that genuinely reflect your experience.
Is this the same score employers see?
No tool can reproduce every employer's system, as each is configured differently. This checker follows the same principles (keyword match and readable formatting), so improvements here usually help everywhere.
Why can't it read my PDF?
Some PDFs are scanned images with no selectable text. ATS software often can't read them either, so export your CV from Word or our CV generator as a text-based PDF.
